Dec. 13, 2021

It is with very heavy and sad hearts that the HHTH team sends this communication out today.

We received news on Saturday that our colleague and respected friend, Brian Steinman, passed away.  On Dec. 6, Brian was admitted to ICU after experiencing an unexplained episode which left him unresponsive.

Brian started with Hockey Helps the Homeless in 2019 as an Operations Coordinator for our East / West portfolio, and was just recently promoted to Sr. Operations Coordinator – Ontario. Brian was only 26 years of age, and a passionate and dedicated employee in addition to being a high achiever showing great promise to further his career quickly. Not only were we fortunate to have him as a coworker, but also as a true friend.

The HHTH team is obviously devastated by the news, but has rallied to offer Brian’s family any support they may need at this time.  Brian’s family (Mother Cindy, Step-Father Mark, Father Rick, Sister Hayley, Brother in-law Joey, Twin Brother Aaron, and Sister in-law Jessica) have asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be offered to HHTH in Brian’s name. Memorial donations will be used to honour Brian and his legacy once the team at HHTH and Brian’s family develop plans to do so.

Donations on behalf of Brian can be made here.

Brian will be remembered as a loyal and dedicated sports fan, an honest and giving person and great team member, he will be dearly missed.

Sincerely,
The HHTH Team
