A Message from our Executive Director
Securely positioned to launch into our next phase of growth, 2011 will see Hockey Helps the Homeless transition from our traditional hockey tournament format into a well rounded charitable organization that will drive revenue, expand reach and help our outreach partners raise the profile of the homeless.
Building on Past Success
We have a reputation for producing well organized hockey tournaments, based on the concept of bringing hockey enthusiasts together for a great cause. Looking ahead, we plan to enhance our tournaments with fun and exciting spectator events, an improved Online Fundraising Program, and an impressive multi-tier fundraising incentive program to encourage Canadians everywhere to fundraise for Hockey Helps the Homeless. We’re also pleased to announce that Toronto will host our first ever Hockey Helps the Homeless Mega Event that will pair up our annual men’s tournament with our first ever women’s tournament.
Raising Awareness
Hockey Helps the Homeless will also be launching a Student Ambassador Program that will see our fundraising platform and partner messages reach out to private high schools in Montreal and Toronto next November. This month-long program will include guest speakers, personal fundraising initiatives, hands-on interaction with our outreach agency partners and a series of fun events for students of all ages. Driving awareness on the issue of homelessness has been, and will continue to be, of paramount importance to our organization. With youth involved, engaged and impassioned about the cause, and through the expertise of our partners, we have an opportunity to seed significant change for Canada’s less fortunate.
The Backbone of our Organization
The spirit of hockey combined with the compassion of our volunteers makes Hockey Helps the Homeless an organization of great integrity, strength and success. With the support of our amazing local volunteer committees, we will continue to operate professional and efficient tournaments that will maximize every dollar we receive from our sponsors, donors and participants. We look forward to sharing the exciting year ahead with you. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to those in need.
